Competitions/Results

The North District runs a number of competitions througout the year. All SBU members of the North District are eligible to play in these, subject to the entry requirements for each competition.

Competitions

Gall Cup: Popular annual swiss teams of 4 event.
Individuals Qualifiers: Qualifying round for the Fairlie, Shenkin and Harrison national individuals competition.
Jamie Batey Trophy: An annual balloted teams event in memory of Jamie Batey.
Jubilee Pairs: District Swiss pairs
MacPhee Trophy: District Pairs
Men's Nat Pairs Qualifier: The district qualifier for the national men's pairs.
National Pairs Qualifier: The District qualifier for the National Pairs.
Norvite Sim Pairs: Simultaneous pairs played in clubs, with a difference. Aggregate scoring s used.
Rayne Qualifier: The qualifiying round(s) for the Edward Rayne Trophy, a national open teams of four event.
Reid Trophy: Friendly Swiss Teams-of-Four. Entry limited to those ranked Star Masters or lower.
Rennie Trophy: Mixed pairs championship
Senior Pairs: Competition for senior players, for the Bill Johnston Cup
Sybil Hay Trophy: Teams of 4 league, played from October through May.
Teams of 8 Leagues: Teams of Eight league, played in clubs throughout the North District.
Women's Nat Pairs Qualifier: Qualifier for the women's pairs
