The North District runs an annual teams-of-four league. These are open to teams of four whose participants are SBU members (either indivdually or through membership of an SBU-affiliated club).

Each team plays all other teams once in a six-board match, with four matches being played each match night throughout the season. The matches are played on set dates (usually five), determined by the convenor before the start of the season. There is generally an extra match night scheduled to accomodate cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.

Substitutions are permiited.
