The North District runs a number of events and competitions throughout the year. Some are district competitions and some are qualifiers for national competitions. All have trophies and other prizes on offer and, of course, master points - both local and national (red) points. Our current calendar of events is here. The North District also promotes bridge through education for both children and adults. We have a number of accredited teachers and classes are held for all levels of experience. Latest NewsTuesday 02. of June 2009Jubilee Pairs ResultsResults have been posted for the Jubilee Pairs (Swiss Pairs) held on Sunday, 10th May. Sunday 03. of May 2009North v Highland MatchThe annual North v Highland encounter held at the Bridge Club on Saturday 2 May was closely fought with Highland drawing ahead by around 1400 points in the first half. In the second 18 boards after lunch, however, North clawed back the deficit and won the match by the narrowest of margins (about 400 points). This fun event was enjoyed by all. Saturday 25. of April 2009Scottish Cup PlatePlaying in the Scottish Plate Final in Dundee on Friday 24th April, our team of Gibby Reid, Mike Hodder, Jim Mason & Eddie McGeough got off to a great start in the first Stanza of 12 boards taking a 21 imp lead, but were eventually outplayed over the 48 boards of the Final by a team comprising mainly Camrose & Lady Internationalists, losing in the end by 53 imps. A very sporting match and the Edinburgh team of Sheila Adamson, Fiona McQuaker, Iain Sime and Patrick Hume were worthy winners of the Plate - and a very creditable performance in the competition by Gibby Reid’s team.

Monday 06. of April 2009Teams of 8 League UpdateAll matches in the Teams of Eight Leagues for the 2008-2009 season have now been played.
